2 Chainz is giving back to his fans. Today (April 15) the rapper announced that he'll be releasing a new EP, "Freebase," in time for the summer.
The EP, due May 5, will consist of five new songs laced strictly with street raps which loyal Tity Boi fans are sure to enjoy.
“It has been a minute since the release of my album 'B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time' and I wanted to give something special to my fans while I record my follow up album," 2 Chainz said via press release. "This is a taste of what is to come, and is most importantly, for them."
2 Chainz gave fans an opportunity to submit cover artwork for consideration through social media. The winning "Freebase" cover features a photo of Richard Pryor wearing two chains. The photo of Pryor also ties with the project's title. The late comedian/actor set himself on fire after freebasing cocaine and drinking high-proof rum during the making of the film, "Bustin' Loose."
