Future, The Roots Headlining Late-Night BET Experience
Late-night concerts by Future and The Roots & Friends plus two nights of comedy head the Club Nokia lineup for the second annual BET Experience at L.A. Live (June 27-29).
Today's talent announcement from BET follows in the wake of the network's previously announced roster of Staples Center festival performers. That list includes Maxwell, Jill Scott and Marsha Ambrosius (June 27), A$AP Rocky, Rick Ross, K. Michelle, Ty Dolla $ign and August Alsina (June 28) and Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz, Jennifer Hudson and Tamar Braxton (June 29, following the BET Awards at the Nokia Theatre).
Future will helm the Club Nokia stage on Friday, June 27. His 11 p.m. show will be preceded at 7 p.m. by "ComicView Live!" New to the festival lineup, the comedy concert stars Sydney Castillo, Zainab Johnson, Ray Grady, Karlous Miller and Rel Howery with host Sommore.
The Roots & Friends take over the late-night slot in a return visit to BETX on Saturday, June 28. The band's cast of friends last year included Nelly, Too $hort, MC Lyte and Naughty By Nature. Prior to the Roots show, actor/comedian Joe Torry will host "Centric Presents … The Next Comedy All-Star" featuring comics Red Grant, Rudy Rush, Gary "G-Thang" Johnson, Nika Williams and Malik S.
