New York City rapper Action Bronson is known for smoking certain controlled substances onstage. When a security guard at Portland's Roseland Theater decided to take exception Monday night, Bronson took matters into his own hands.
In video of the incident, Bronson lights up a joint onstage, and is then corralled by a security guard who attempts to escort him offstage. That's when Bronson notices he has quite a size advantage over the other guy, and responds with a propulsive shove. A few seconds later, Bronson shoves him again, this time sending him to the floor as the crowd erupts in cheers. Watch:
Bronson and the guard had been sparring throughout the night. This Instagram video catches an earlier incident, where Bronson accuses him of grabbing his crotch:
According to an attendee's comment on The Oregonian's recap, Bronson's DJ continued playing after Bronson's exit, until the venue cut his sound. About 20 minutes later, Bronson reappeared and gave fistbumps to the roughly 50 fans remaining.
Those familiar already know that an Action Bronson show is no typical rap concert. In addition to regularly lighting up onstage, he's been known to hand out free weed (like at last year's Coachella) and even steak dinners and Gucci shoes to his audiences.
Afterwards, he tweeted:
PORTLAND ANOTHER LEGENDARY NIGHT!!!! WOOOOOOO!!!
