Ryan McDermott has been counting down the weeks to the release of his upcoming mixtape, "Ryan Vs. The Sandman: The Tale Of The Sleepwalkers" (Jan. 21), by teasing fans with consistent eclectic releases.

The singer-songwriter, newly signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label, reflects on the good and bad of the city of angels in his latest, "LA." "It's inspired by the beautiful city of Los Angeles, a city where dreams are made, broken, and renewed," McDermott tells The Juice of of "LA."

Check out the track, written and produced by him, exclusively premiered here on the Juice.

"LA is this incredible melting pot of so many people and things. It's one of the most spiritually diverse cities on the planet and it's also one of the most superficial places on the planet. It's a place where entertainment and media monitor the world and send a tone back out to the world," he continued. "I've lived in LA for almost eight years and I've seen the good and the bad; [I've] felt it move within me and around me. I've absorbed LA into my stomach. For me it's come to represent all of the beautiful possibilities of our world as well as the tragic downfalls, and this mirrors the same beautiful possibilities and potential tragic downfalls within myself, within all of us, within humanity."

"LA" follows up his Sinziana Velicescu-directed video for the Sabi-assisted collaboration, "Overflow."
