Janelle Monáe To Perform from New York Fashion Week Runway

Janelle Monáe is hitting the stage for New York Fashion Week.

The R&B musician, known for her signature tuxedo look, will perform live for models as they walk down New York-based designer Rebecca Minkoff's runway on Friday.

Monae's performance at Lincoln Center will be part of "American Express Unstaged," a program that pairs artists from different genres with renowned directors to collaborate and share their work through digital media.

The designer and the singer will also give fans a behind-the-scenes peek on Instagram with a backstage camera and live photo feed during the show, while E!'s Fashion

Police host Kelly Osbourne will host the event showcasing Minkoff's Spring 2014 collection.

Monae's new album, "The Electric Lady," is set for release on Sept. 10.

The event will stream live on RebeccaMinkoff.com at 3 p.m. ET.
