Game Song Premiere: 'Skate On,' Feat. Lupe Fiasco
Less than a year after the debut of his Billboard 200 No. 1 album, "The R.E.D. Album," Game has laced yet another mixtape, "California Republic" (April 5), and is currently in the studio working on his fifth full-length opus, "FIVE: Fear Is Victory's Evolution." In anticipation for "California Republic," hosted by DJ Skee, we're exclusively streaming Game's latest, "Skate On," featuring Lupe Fiasco.
On the Pharrell-produced cut, the L.A. rapper recalls his past mistakes and newfound growth. "Now, I been rapping for nine years, four months, 45, 46, 47 seconds/ I was Dr. Dre's weapon/ Had the option to stay and kept swerving/ Made some rookie mistakes, but so did Kyrie Irving,' Game raps. He also touches on the difference between the lifestyles of his younger contemporaries and his, "This year, I'm getting my cash right/ Thirty years old, let Drake and Soulja Boy live the fast life."
Last month (March 12) Game told The Juice that fans will also hear from L.A. bred rising artists. "[I] have some new and upcoming artists from out this way," he said. "You can expect my mixtape to do what it always does, which is consist of a lot of good music and be a lot better than most artists' albums."
What do you think of Game's "Skate On," featuring Lupe Fiasco?
