Aside from his chainz, Georgia rapper 2 Chainz apparently enjoys carrying around brass knuckles -- and the TSA is reportedly not too cool with the MC's latest accessory. TMZ reports that 2 Chainz (real name: Tauheed Epps) was arrested at New York's LaGuardia Airport on Tuesday (May 22) when brass knuckles were discovered in his carry-on bag.
The rapper, who is scheduled to perform at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion in Raleigh on Tuesday night, was reportedly boarding a plane to North Carolina when the TSA found the brass knuckles in his bag. 2 Chainz was slapped with a misdemeanor possession of a criminal weapon charge and taken into custody.
A rep from Def Jam could not confirm the reported arrest at press time.
The plot of the arrest quickly thickened when 2 Chainz's G.O.O.D. Music companion Big Sean posted on Twitter, "2 chainz ain't have no brass knuckles, it was a 4 finger ring that spelled hood. We had a shoot yesturday n he was rockin em." After these shenanigans, 2 Chainz may just need to stick to neck jewelry, lest the police catch wind of his forward-thinking finger fashion.
The rapper's debut album, "Based on a T.R.U. Story," is set for release on Aug. 14 on Def Jam. "No Lie," his single with Drake, debuted at No. 45 on the Hot 100 last week, while a video for his tack "Undastatement" was released on Tuesday. Watch it below:
