This week, French electronic artist Kavinsky made a splash in R&B/hip-hop world with the release of "Odd Look (Remix)," featuring the Weeknd. The Canadian singer’s signature falsetto glides effortlessly over the Knight Rider-inspired track which was first featured on Kavinsky’s “Outrun” LP (February, 2013). This remix version will be featured on his “Odd Look” EP due in August while the Weeknd’s “Kiss Land” is expected to drop this year.

Veteran Houston rapper Chamillionaire continues to work his way up the comeback trail with the release of his “Reignfall” EP and its impressive title track. Sampling Isaac Hayes’ classic “Ike’s Mood,” the smooth cut features Houston rap legend Scarface, Atlanta’s Killer Mike and newcomer Bobby Moon. Chamillionaire’s last appearances on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums were in 2007 with the Slick Rick-assisted “Hip-Hop Police” (No. 76 peak) and his second solo studio album “Ultimate Victory” (No. 3), respectively. His third solo set titled “Poison” is set to drop soon.
