Kanye West and Jay-Z's collaborative album has been on rotation non-stop. One week after its digital release, "Watch the Throne" has sold 436,000 copies to shoot to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while breaking the U.S. iTunes Store's one-week sales record by selling nearly 290,000 downloads.
Take a peak at the album's production notes and you'll see Swizz Beatz's name a few times. The producer was the mastermind behind "Watch the Throne" banger, "Welcome to the Jungle," co-produced "Murder to Excellence" and added additional vocals to two tracks ("Who Gon Stop Me," "Welcome to the Jungle").
After taking the stage at Billboard Summer Blowout last Thursday (Aug. 11), which was coincidentally the night of the "Otis" video debut, Swizz Beatz talked to The Juice on working with Jay-Z and Kanye West on their album.
"I'm a part of four different songs in different ways," Swizz tells The Juice. "That's like being in the studio with Quincy Jones and Michael Jackson at the same time. Of course we don't feel that now, the masses don't feel like that now, but ten years down the road, 15 years, that well be compared to something like that in hip-hop history. Just to be in the Mercer... I'm just happy to be here"
