Jay Electronica's debut full-length may not be hitting stores anytime soon, but the MC rocked the Internet by releasing an electrifying new track, "Call of Duty" featuring Mobb Deep's Prodigy, on Monday (Oct. 10).
The single recalls Big Boi's "General Patton's" combination of well-crafted braggadocio and rattling war cries. "I went from Myspace to the top of the food chain/The Sperm hit the Egg like a missle/Then nine months later, the celebratory news came/'Exhibit C' gave the whole world a mood change," Elect spits. The rapper also takes a second to tip his cap to J. Cole, his Roc Nation label mate whose "Cole World: The Sideline Story" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, before Prodigy arrives on the third verse.
"Call of Duty" may or may not appear on "Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn)," Jay Electronica's long-awaited first album that follows the success of singles like "Exhibit C." The MC signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation label in November; Jay, of course, had some not-so-nice words for Prodigy on his "Blueprint" track "Takeover."
