All He Needs Are Investors: 'It Costs a Lot of Money'
Get ready world, R&B wizard R. Kelly says he has written up an additional 32 chapters of his "Trapped in the Closet" hip-hopera. The star made the announcement in a chat with a gushing TMZ reporter outside an L.A. gym on Tuesday (Dec. 20).
While he has the vignettes written, R. Kelly says he's looking for a little help in backing the project: "It costs a lot of money, so we're looking for investors."
The crooner released the saga's first 22 chapters (each being a song with an accompanying dramatic video) between 2005 and 2007, with the last ten arriving in August 2007. The plot centers on the aftermath of a one-night stand and is chocked full of lies, intrigue and too many guns to count. There were also many characters in the series, with notable cameos coming from Michael K. Williams (Omar on "The Wire") and folk singer-actor Will Oldham.
"I always wanted to be a movie director," Kelly told TMZ. "That's my movie directing seeping out into my music."
