On Friday night (May 31), Beyoncé gave fans another taste at her new music. During a concert in Antwerp, Belgium (part of her massive Mrs. Carter Show World Tour), she performed a song called "Standing on the Sun" live for the first time.
"We're gonna do something just for y'all," says Bey before bringing the song to life for the first time. In late April, an ad for H&M's summer collection teased the song with a 90-second clip. Finally hearing it in a live setting, it's safe to call it one of Bey's uplifting, empowering jams, of the "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" variety.
The track was written by Greg Kurstin and Sia, according to a tweet written by the latter. There's no indication if it will be included on Beyoncé's forthcoming fifth studio album, though it certainly sounds the part.
Earlier this year, Beyoncé previewed a new song, "Grown Woman," off her upcoming album, in similar fashion. She let fans get a taste of the track through her Pepsi commerical. The singer performed "Grown Woman" live for the first time on April 24 at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France.
