Last month, Eve dropped an uplifting new music video for her coming of age single "Make It Out This Town," featuring Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta on guest vocals.
Billboard now has an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the making of the vid.
"The concept of this video is more of a narrative," explains Eve. "It's two kids: one boy, one girl. The boy is a gay teen and a dancer and he's being bullied. And the girl is a troubled girl who needs someone to reach out to her. And you see that in the video -- a teacher reaches out to her."
The video, directed by Robby Starbuck, reps Eve's work as a celebrity ambassador for Big Brothers Bis Sisters, an charitable organization that works to help children facing adversity by pairing them with adults, who serve as mentors.
"You actually get to see her go to a facility and get mentored." says Eve of the video's female protagonist.
Saporta makes a guest appearance, singing alongside Eve and acting as a teacher in the onscreen middle school.
"I never thought we would work together and then all of a sudden, my manager calls me," Saporta says. "'Oh we got a call from Eve's people, she wants you to feature on a song.'"
"Make It Out This Town" comes from Eve's forthcoming album "Lip Lock," due May 14 on FTR Music.
