Kid Cudi took advantage of his interview with L.A.'s Power 106 to announce that he's no longer on Kanye West's imprint, G.O.O.D. Music.
"I’m announcing that I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music. And this is something that no one knows really. I’m no longer on G.O.O.D. Music," he said.
Of course, Kanye was the first to know and understand where Cudi was coming from.
"Me and Kanye were talking on the phone the other day. These have been things I wanted to talk to him about, about me wanting to start my own direction," Cudi said. "He got it because he’s trying to start his new path, and trying new things as an artist. He was just like ‘Man, I feel you. It’s cool. Whatever.'"
Cudi, whose album "indicud" debuts on April 23, continued to say that he wants to solely focus on his imprint, Wicked Awesome [Records], and Chip: "I don't want to have a full label of artists. I just want to work on Chip and keep my sound going."
Rest assured there's no beef between Cudi, ''Ye and the rest of his former G.O.O.D. Music labelmates. Cudi "can never get tired of Kanye" and will still be working with G.O.O.D. artists, like Big Sean and Pusha T. "There's no beefs, no problems with anybody on the label. It's all love," he said.
