Big K.R.I.T. Debuts Bun B-Assisted Single, 'Shine On': Listen

Meridian, Mississippi's favorite, Big K.R.I.T., hypes his upcoming mixatpe, “K.ing R.emembered I.n T.ime,” with a triumphant, self-produced first single, "Shine On."

K.R.I.T. takes time to bask in the success of his rap career thus far, while also flashing his skills as a producer. A grooving baseline, skittering drums, and ethereal vocal samples serve as a soothing backdrop to the song's subject matter.

Veteran rapper, Bun B, comes in and drops insight on the rap game: "They say man make money, money don't make the man. But it's a little bit of both." The two previously collaborated on a remix of the Mississippi anthem "Country Shit" on the 2011 mixtape "Return of 4Eva."

K.R.I.T -- whose name also is an acronym for "King Remembered In Time" -- released his major label debut "Live From the Underground" in June 2012. The album debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 with 41,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
