Angel Haze’s quirky, but no-nonsense style has caught our attention. So we tapped the edgy rapper to be the latest fashion week correspondent for The Hook. We had Angel cover the Alexander Wang show held at the Brooklyn Navy Yard last Saturday (Feb. 8). The “Werkin' Girls” singer took us behind the scenes of the show and gave us the low down on Alexander’s latest vision. Check out Angel’s review below:
The show was ultimately an amalgamation of all the best things in life: fashion, hot girls, and theatrics. I had the pleasure of speaking with Alex after the show and he seemed so genuinely pleased with both line and the show itself.
My favorite look had to be the end bits where the heat activated pieces of clothing came into play. God, how creative. You literally watched the girls spin from complete blackness to color.
The soundtrack, I was told, was produced by Baauer. To be honest, I bobbed my head so much during the show I may have shaken the actual recollection of the music out of it. Good? Yes.
Some other front row attendees I noticed (who also happened to be fabulously well-dressed) were [actresss] Zoe Kravitz, [model and music producer ] Caroline De Maigret, Karen Elson, [actor] Sam Worthington and [singer] Aluna Francis [from duo AlunaGeorge.
The vibe of the show altogether was fun and fashion and complete unexpectedness. I suppose that's what fashion is about: surprise. Yeah. Oh, and Alex with his signature runway run. That too.
