Although winter just started, musicians fronting spring/summer 2014 fashion campaigns are pouring in. First, we saw Mother Monster, Lady Gaga pose for Versace and now, Rihanna’s been named the new face of Balmain. The singer is a major fan of the label and was described as an “icon” by the label's creative director, Olivier Rousteing.
"In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world," said Rousteing to WWD. "When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete."
The ads, shot in New York by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, was styled by Rih Rih’s go to stylist Mel Ottenberg. In the spring 2014 campaign, the Bajan beauty rocks a blue chainmail off the shoulder knit and pink monster houndstooth suit paired with white lace boots complete with gold toecaps—a ‘90s throwback vibe we love.
The images are set to be in magazines come January 2014.
