L ady Gaga lit up televisions all over the world on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" in Times Square on Saturday night. From a royal crystal covered gown to a villainess crystal covered creation, Gaga rang in the New Year with no shortage of glitter.
At the stroke of midnight, as she went lip to lip with NYC's mayor, Mike Bloomberg, Gaga rocked a silver Atelier Versace beaded gown. The singer polished off the regal look with a pair of long gloves and a sun goddess-meets-baby New Year, crystal-covered headpiece.
More New Year's Revelry
For her performance Gaga chose something a bit more her, and much more shocking. Gaga made her grand entrance in a large black cape-like creation dripping with Swarovski crystals, and a face mask -- think Clayman meets Catwoman meets Elizabeth Taylor.
The singer then lost the cape and revealed a black catsuit that was also saturated with Swarovksi crystals and contained by a cage invention. The First Lady of fashion accessorized the look with black platform shoes and shades featuring the signature Versace Medusa medallions plastered on the lenses.
After her very public Times Square celebration, Gaga invited her closest friends back to Joanne Trattoria, the restaurant she co-owns with her father, for a private gathering.
To go along with this get-together the "Marry the Night" singer did yet another costume change, slipping into something a bit more comfortable: a Stephane Rolland Fall 2010 Couture mini dress and matching billowing white cape complete with sparkling jewel-encrusted tights, white Christian Louboutin 'Daffodile' pumps and a string of pearls. A pure and virginal way to ring in the New Year!
