Fashion Week NYC: Jeremy Scott Talks Arab Spring, Kanye Kicks It at Marchesa

The second-to-last day of New York Fashion Week was steeped in exotics. From Egypt to India, Wednesday (Sept. 12) saw a rich array of mysterious and enchanting collections with inspirations from across the world. Musicians like Kanye West and Joe Jonas sat front row, enjoying presentations by Michael Bastian, Marchesa and more.

Jeremy Scott

Former Billboard Behind the Seams star Jeremy Scott revealed a bold Arabian-inspired collection filled with prints, gold and many Rihanna-worthy pieces. The provocative collection featured glittering leopard print burkas crowned with black crocodile-embellished baseball caps, gold dresses, and tops covered in gold metal machine guns. As original mixes by Michel Gaubert blared into Milk Studios, front row stars Adam Lambert, Sky Ferreira, Paris Hilton and Tyra Banks sang along to songs like Aaliyah's "Try Again." We went behind the scenes at Scott's bold, exotic show and caught up with the eccentric designer. Check out the exclusive interview above!

Douglas Hannat

Douglas Hannat created an eccentric, feminine and floral-filled collection for spring 2013. Filled with beaded gowns, dresses hand-painted with tropical floral prints and organza blouses, it was clear this collection was all about simplicity and romance. Paula Abdul, who's become quite the familiar face at Fashion Week, was watching the elegant spring show unfold in an emerald figure-hugging dress by Hannat and a neon green necklace.

Marchesa

Fantasy and glamour-filled brand Marchesa revealed yet another glittering, otherworldly collection for spring 2013. This season, designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig drew inspiration from Indian culture in the 1960s, when the Beatles sang about the country and embraced the spiritual guidance of the Maharishi.

As an India-inspired mix -- featuring M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls" -- played throughout the venue, models took to the catwalk in exotic and adventurous pieces, covered with detailed embroidery, sari draping, fringe and glittering gold embellishments.

Rapper and fashion icon Kanye West watched from the front row as Marchesa's unique collection took to the runway. 'Ye was casual in an all-denim look and a pair of white kicks. Nothing says badass more than showing up to a Marchesa show in jeans and sneakers! He did, however, arrive with a flashy accessory: girlfriend Kim Kardashian on his arm in an elaborate white fringe Marchesa creation.

Other notable attendees included Kelly Osbourne, who rocked a decadent Marchesa gown, Harvey Weinstein, Anna Wintour and Tyra Banks.

Gant by Michael Bastian

Michael Bastian's spring 2013 Gant collection was inspired by the mystery of the Galapagos Islands; models walked down the runway in youthful camouflage cargo pants and South American motif hoodies. Nick and Joe Jonas rocked dapper looks, consisting of T-shirts and tailored blazers, as they chatted with designer Michael Bastian at the spring presentation held at Industria Studios on Wednesday (Sept. 12).
