On the eve of a new album release, Miller reveals his clothing line.
Last week streetwear brand Neff dropped its official line with hip-hop artist, Mac Miller. In 2012 Neff worked with the likes of Snoop Lion and Deadmau5, but this year the brand wanted to switch it up a bit by joining forces with Mac Miller. "Creating an image is just as important as creating a hit,” founder Shaun Neff explains to Billboard on why musicians often find themselves starting fashion labels.
The eight-piece limited edition Miller collection includes co-branded tribal-inspired t-shirts, hats, a tank top, sweatshirt and watch. "My favorite piece is the Mac Miller signature Neff watch,” Neff says to Billboard. “It came out amazing and really reflects how crazy Mac's life is. Plus, now he has something to keep him on track."
While simultaneously working on his fun and funky new fashion venture, Mac has been prepping for the release of his new album, “Watching Movies with the Sound Off” (out June 18),” which includes collaborations with Diplo, Tyler, The Creator, Flying Lotus and Pharrell Williams.
“I have been spending the past few years working on ‘Watching Movies with the Sound Off’,” Mac tells Billboard. “Working on this Neff collection was something that was completely new for me, but something that I am equally as proud of. Since Neff is known for their bright and bold patterns, I knew the bright, colorful patterns that have always been part of my life, would make a dope collection. Also, a lot of kids coming to my shows already wear Neff.”
