2013 Fall Paris Fashion Week: Cher, Lily Allen, M.I.A, Kanye West and More Show Up and Out
The Hook's editor Gregory DelliCarpini Jr. is monitoring the scene at Paris Fashion Week, scoping out the latest fall runway looks and hot celeb sightings.
Lily Allen, Rita Ora, M.I.A and Lykke Li Perform at Etam Lingerie
Lily Allen, making her musical comeback, hit up the Parisian catwalk this week performing at the Etam Lingerie show. The dark haired songstress performed her 2006 debut single “Smile’ as sexy swimwear and delicate lingerie pieces took to the runway. Lily rocked a printed maxi dress paired with black stilettos and beehive styled hair. Rita Ora, M.I.A and Lykke Li also hit the stage at the Mark Ronson directed show. M.I.A. added some edgy glamour to the runway as she hit the stage singing “Bad Girls” in a glittering gold top and shades.
Cher Spotted at Gareth Pugh
Paris Fashion Week just got even more fabulous. The legendary Cher was spotted sitting front row at the Gareth Pugh fashion show on Feb. 26. “OMG! Cher is at Paris Fashion week!” read countless tweets before the show started. Dressed in all black with huge gold dangling hoop earrings the “Believe” singer watched as Pugh’s avant-garde punk collection of dark romantic pieces of black, white and gray dresses with leather and fur details took to the catwalk. Perhaps we will see some of these ghostly voluminous skirts and gothic creations on the pop diva?
Kanye West Wore Timberlands to Anthony Vaccarello
Kanye West has made his first appearance at Paris Fashion Week, perched front row at the Anthony Vaccarello's show on Feb. 26. The “Otis” rapper sat next to French Vanity Fair‘s Virginie Mouzat and looked on as models clad in graphic black double crepe dresses with silver embroidery detailing strutted down the catwalk. West sported a casual and unrefined look of jeans, a denim shirt and wheat Timberland boots.
Nicola Formichetti’s Sky High Fall Collection
As noise of soaring planes blared in the background of the airport hangar yesterday (Feb. 27), Lady Gaga stylist Nicola Formichetti’s fall collection for Thierry Mugler of dominatrix air pilot gear took to the runway. Formichetti’s insect obsession was on full display as geometric hostess-inspired uniforms of cool grey with exaggerated shoulders paired with petite pencil skirts and, my personal favorite, a futuristic orange sherbet silk top with graphic detail on the sleeve took to the catwalk. Formichetti told Elle Magazine that, "Restriction is key to this label and I was looking at Hitchcock movies and wanted the girls to all to have this kind of stifled, restrained feel." We will likely see Gaga rocking many of these haunted air travel inspired looks this year.
