Country legend Alan Jackson is starting a tour in January 2015, but it's not just another trip on the road for the seasoned veteran: it celebrates his 25th anniversary as a country singer. The tour begins Jan. 8 and continues through May 17.

The singer, whose albums and singles consistently topped the country charts throughout the '90s and '00s, described the idea behind the tour to People. "This is a way to make it new -- put together something special that pulls together those 25 years," he said. Jackson's not afraid to embrace his age. "Some people don't like to talk about how many years they've been around -- it makes them feel old. I'm proud of it and glad to do it."

Jackson will be accompanied on the tour by relative newcomers Jon Pardi and Brandy Clark. Pardi released his debut album, Write You A Song, back in January; Clark also debuted not too long ago with 12 Stories (Oct. 2013). Clark is currently on tour with Eric Church and Dwight Yoakam -- a singer who came up around the same time as Jackson.

In addition to the tour, Jackson will be celebrating the 35th anniversary of his marriage in December, and he plans to release a new album in 2015. His last full-length, The Bluegrass Album, came out at the end of 2013.
