Brett Eldredge is on an amazing high these days. “Beat Of The Music,” his follow-up to last year’s chart-topping “Don’t Ya,” became his second straight number one recently on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. During a recent interview with Billboard in Nashville, the soulful singer said being two for two from his debut "Bring You Back" is a feeling he likes – a lot.
“It feels amazing,” he admitted to Billboard. “It’s been a couple of weeks after going number one, and I’m still on a high. I got to have dinner with my parents to celebrate and soak it all in. It’s awesome to have a number one, but now there’s a second – so the pressure is less now. I just want to keep putting out great music that people want to listen to, and I’ll keep loving what I’m doing and living from song to song. Everything is going great right now. Life is good.”
More Brett Eldredge:
The singer smiled when asked if he might have found himself around a radio last weekend for one of the syndicated country countdown shows to hear his song at the top. “If I don’t have a radio around me, I have apps on my phone to search the countdowns,” he said, smiling. “I listened to them all on my bunk the other day.”
Regardless of chart position, Eldredge says he loves just being in the game. “I will never get tired of hearing that I have a number one song – or a number ten song, for that matter. I grew up listening to them, and to be one of the people on there who is on the chart, that’s the craziest feeling in the world. You’re rolling down the highway on the bus that you’ve always dreamed of being on, and you hear you’re number one on the phone- and it’s being played to millions of people out there, that’s what it’s all about.”
Eldredge hopes to make it three straight with the release of his latest, “Mean To Me,” which has just hit radio.
