Toby Keith to Headline Australia's CMC Rocks the Hunter Festival

Toby Keith is heading Down Under for his first-ever Australian performance.

The country superstar will headline the 2014 CMC Rocks the Hunter festival, on a bill that includes compatriots the Eli Young Band, Kellie Pickler, Craig Campbell, Paul Thorn and Love & Theft. Homegrown country stars Lee Kernaghan, Morgan Evans and the Flood will take their place on the line-up for the three-day event, which starts March 14 at the Hope Estate winery.

Rob Potts’ Entertainment Edge, Chugg Entertainment and Foxtel’s Country Music Channel are behind the fest which, after seven years in business (including four in the Hunter Valley), claims to be the biggest international country and roots event of its kind outside North America.

“Toby Keith has been in our sights for years and we’re thrilled to finally bring him Down Under,” comments Potts in a statement. “We can’t wait to see him blow the punters away with his twenty years of incredible hits at CMC Rocks the Hunter next March. It’ll be a ripper.”

The 2014 CMC Rocks the Hunter ticket onsale starts Sept. 9. More artist announcements for this year's event will be made in due course.

Its sister event, CMC Rocks North Queensland, will be headlined by Alan Jackson.

Chugg Entertainment and Rob Potts Entertainment Edge have joined forces on the biggest-name country music tours of Australia over recent years, including Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw and the upcoming trek featuring Alan Jackson with Miranda Lambert and Jasmine Rae.
