Watch Jana Kramer Talk 'Why Ya Wanna' & 'It Girl' Label

Jana Kramer has a lot of reason to be smiling these days. Her debut album debuted in the top five on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and her first single, "Why Ya Wanna," is closing in on the top ten on the singles chart (it rises to No. 11 this week).

Kramer was one of the acts that performed as part of Pepsi and Billboard's Summer Beats Concert series at Nashville's Cannery Ballroom this past Monday. She presented a mix of material, ranging from some soaring ballads to uptempo crowd pleasers, and even tipped the musical hat to Sheryl Crow with a version of "All I Wanna Do."

Above, Kramer talks about everything that has gone on with her this year -- from the success of her music to her debut on the Grand Ole Opry, as well as the special working relationship she enjoys with Kye Fleming, one of Nashville's most respected songwriters. She also responds to being called country music's "It Girl" in a recent article on Billboard.com concerning the top new musical acts of the year (so far).
