Watch Adam Sandler Sing a Tearful Goodbye His Favorite 'Old Chair'
Adam Sandler reached peak goofball on Thursday night's (Nov. 17) Conan when he sang a sad, supremely silly ode to his favorite place to park it, "My Old Chair." The same guy who once penned an paean to a "Red Hooded Sweatshirt" reached a new high in low comedy in the acoustic anthem, which featured the lines: "My old chair is like a big comfy friend/ It's soft and it's fuzzy/ with a brownish, orangey blend/ But the padding is gone/ And I'm sorry to say/ I think it's time for me to throw my chair away."
He crooned the latter lyrics with a bit of a hitch in his voice, tearing up as he recalled watching a guy in a mullet toss his old pal into the back of his truck, wondering, "whose farting in your cushion tonight?" Then there were more fart jokes, like way more than you expected. Or not.
Watch the magic:
Conan loves his old friend, but even had had to admit that the four-minute tone poem about breaking wind while watching Norbit was, well, real dumb.
