Jojo Prepping First Album in 10 Years, 'Mad Love'; Drops 'F*** Apologies' with Wiz Khalifa
Now we know JoJo's got Mad Love. Why? Because that's the name of the pop sensation's first new album in a decade, which she will unleash on the hungry JoJo Nation on Oct. 14. It was welcome news for the now 25-year-old singer who blazed out of the gate in 2004 with the No. 1 smash "Leave (Get Out)" from her self-titled debut, scored another hit with "Too Little Too Late" in 2006 from The High Road, and then... crickets.
With the exception of two mixtapes and a pair of EPs released in 2014 and 2015, JoJo remained fairly quiet due to label issues, a situation she remedied on Thursday (July 28) with the release of Mad Love's first single, the defiant "F**k Apologies," feat. Wiz Khalifa. "What you want from me, I would say I'm sorry if I really meant it/F**k apologies, I would say I'm sorry if I really meant it/ I'm not perfect, I got pride/That's not what it is this time, so f**k apologies I would say I'm sorry if I really meant it," she sings on the slow-creep track that spotlights her signature expressive, slightly raspy delivery.
Mad Love features production from Wolf Cousins' Oscar Holter (P!nk, Tori Kelly), Whiskey Water (Nick Jonas) and Justin Tranter (Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber). More details about the album's track list will be released soon. In the meantime, JoJo is touring hard as the opening act on Fifth Harmony's 7/27 Tour
