Watch Mike Posner's Acoustic Performance of 'I Took a Pill in Ibiza': Exclusive Video
Although Mike Posner namechecks dance demigod Avicii and clubbing mecca Ibiza in "I Took a Pill in Ibiza," the surprisingly autobiographical song originally had a lonelier acoustic-guitar-on-a-cloudy-day vibe, with a matching black-and-white music video reminiscent of Bob Dylan's Don't Look Back -- or Love Actually, depending on whom you ask. For those who want to see the daytime side of the club hit, Posner returns to the song's roots in a Billboard exclusive acoustic performance of "Ibiza."
"But you don't wanna be high like me/Never really knowing why like me/You don't ever wanna step off that roller coaster and be all alone," Posner sings on the coffee shop pleaser turned dance hit. "I'm worried that people will listen to my songs and think I'm a depressed guy -- but I have happy feelings too," he says in an in-depth Billboard interview in this week's issue. "In the past seven years, I had the full spectrum."
Posner will do quite the juggling act on his next full-length release, with 12 autobiographical acoustic tracks and six EDM remixes -- all approved by the Posner, he says, "because they are giving my songs a second life."
