Ed Sheeran Buys His Folks a London Flat (So They Can Babysit His Future Kids)

Ed Sheeran has just set the bar sky-high for Christmas gifts. He’s bought his folks a new million-dollar apartment, right across the road from his home. 

The British singer-songwriter told The Sun newspaper he splashed out on the new dwelling in London and a new car, with the caveat that his parents will handle some future babysitting duties.

“I bought them a flat. They already have a house. I got them a flat and a car in London so they can stay there. It’s opposite me as well,” The Sun quotes Sheeran as saying. 

“My thing is, I bought a house about a mile away from them where we live in a countryside, and I bought a flat and a house pretty much opposite each other in London. So when I have kids, when they start getting a little bit irritating, I’ve got the grandparents there."

The singer-songwriter recently announced he was taking a break from social media -- or rather, “buggering off for a bit” in his words. On the upside, his third album is on the way -- again, in his words -- and he’s told fans he’ll see them again next fall.
