Britney Spears arrives at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards at Microsoft Theater on Aug. 30, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.

Britney Spears sure knows how to work it.

The pop superstar confirmed overnight that she’s moving forward with a new album. Well, moving forward at her own pace.

Spears tweeted a photo of herself and songwriters Justin Tranter and Julia Michaels giving comically bemused looks along with the caption: “Working hard and hardly working...new album...wheeeee!”

Spears, who’s in the midst of a residency at Las Vegas’ which has just been extended by two years, has been dropping hints of late that a new album, her ninth, is in the works.

She recently shared a captionless photo of herself in the studio and just last week revealed that she’d finished recording vocals on one song and shared the cryptic hashtag "B9." Whether "B9" refers to her new album, time will tell.

Spears’ most recent album, Britney Jean, peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 following its release in late 2013.
