After the former One Direction member called off his and Edwards' nearly two-year engagement earlier this month, her group was in New York celebrating its fourth anniversary with a performance for AOL in New York.

During the set, Edwards began crying while singing a particularly relevant solo on new song "The End." In it, she sings, "And I won't be missing, missing you / And no one can love you, the way I used to do / But love isn't fair (Love isn't fair) / And I swear (This time I swear) / That this time / This is the end."

Her bandmates were quick to huddle around her with hugs, as Jesy Nelson explained, "It's been a long day, and we've had no sleep, so I think this is why this has happened. We're just very emotional."

Meanwhile, the audience shouted, supportingly, "We love you, Perrie!"
