Alessia Cara just made a big, new fan thanks to an acoustic cover of Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" she performed for BBC Radio 1 -- Ms. Swift, herself.

Tomorrow's Hits: Alessia Cara

The pop star shouted out the up and coming 18-year old Canadian Def Jam signee Cara's cover on Twitter Wednesday, responding to the impressive reworking that includes Kendrick Lamar's verse. Needless to say, Cara was a bit surprised.

Cara’s cover of “Bad Blood” (and Taylor’s tweet) sent the track racing back to No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140. The attention also boosted Cara’s own single “Here,” which simultaneously climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart.

In her cover, Cara performs on guitar with just a piano accompaniment, occasionally breaking it down with finger-snapping refrains.
