Charli XCX's new single "Break the Rules" has a serious "School's Out" vibe, and the U.K. singer-songwriter captures that celebratory mayhem in the official music video for the new single, which features an impeccable cameo by none other than "Jawbreaker" star Rose McGowan.

Charli and her cohorts hijack a school bus in order to help the video's star find a dress for that evening's prom, and when the group of girls stride into the dimly lit gymnasium, their evening gowns shimmering in their slow-motion struts, McGowan is introduced as the suspicious Chaperone. The prom turns into a the Greatest Prom Ever, and is highlighted by McGowan showering Charli and her friends with what appears to be pink paint. Hey, they don't mind!

"I was inspired by movies like 'Jawbreaker' and 'Carrie' for the 'Break the Rules' video," says Charli in a press statement. "I never went to prom when I was at school so this was kind of me living out my weird fantasy of what prom would be like in my head. I asked Rose McGowan to be in the video and I never ever thought she would say yes, but she did... so she came to prom too... And she trashed it."

"Break the Rules" is the lead single from Charli XCX's sophomore album, Sucker, due out Oct. 21 through Neon Gold/Atlantic Records. The U.K. singer-songwriter recently scored her first Top 10 hit as a solo artist with "Boom Clap," which she performed during the MTV VMAs pre-show on Sunday night (Aug. 24).
