Rising Nashville-based artist Daniella Mason has continued releasing compelling synth-pop music after gaining a famous fan in Demi Lovato earlier this year. In late June, the singer-songwriter released the new single "Shade of You," and Billboard.com is proud to premiere the atmospheric track's official music video:

After Lovato noticed Mason's 2013 track "All I Want" and blasted it out on Twitter, the pop superstar invited the rising artist to join her on a date of her Neon Lights tour earlier this year. "Shade of You" delivers on that early promise, and the music video reflects the struggle at the heart of the song.

"'Shade of You' tells a story of inner conflict," says Mason. "It's definitely something we've all been through. We wanted to make a video that tapped into that emotional space in a surreal way -- to make it abstract enough so that anyone could place their own story within it. It's a story that everyone can take part in."

Mason has previously played shows with the Civil Wars and Joe Jonas, and will be featured on Nick Jonas' upcoming solo album. Watch the previously released video for "All I Want" below:
