The Backstreet Boy and the New Kid on the Block go Maroon 5 on their sprightly first offering.

Naysayers be damned—boy band lightning can strike twice. "One More Time," the first offering from Nick Carter and Jordan Knight's side project Nick & Knight, is a straight-up summer pop jam, one that proves the Backstreet Boys singer and the New Kids on the Block vocalist have a true creative rapport.

With a sprightly lite-funk guitar riff, immaculate production and a sea of delicious "woo-hoo" falsettos, "One More Time" is less boy band and more Maroon 5. So if you dig the Adam Levine brand of vaguely funky adult pop, you might find yourself giving "One More Time" multiple spins.

Nick & Knight will drop their self-titled debut album on September 2, which Carter described as "a bunch of our pop, rock, R&B and urban." The duo hit the road for a massive tour on September 15.
