Kiesza's single "Hideaway" has been surging on the Dance Club Songs chart, and might get a few more spins after the Canadian dance-pop artist made her network television debut on Thursday night (July 10) with a tremendously entertaining performance of the track on "The Late Show with David Letterman":
Kiesza and her two backup dancers begin the performance innocently enough on a bench onstage, but those backup dancers multiply to six, and then the singer marches down the aisle of the studio and heads outside. An unrestrained fire hydrant blasts her with water after she hooks up with even more dancers outside, and when she returns inside to finish off the song, Letterman greets her with a reaction similar to his praise of Future Islands back in March.
"Hideaway" doubles as the name of Kiesza's four-song debut EP, released earlier this week via Island Records/4th and B'way/Lokal Legend. Watch the music video for "Hideaway," which the "Letterman" performance nods to, below:
