Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and his sidekick Guillermo have taken a stab at learning the dazzling performance by 11-year-old Maddie Ziegler in Sia’s music video for “Chandelier.”
Kimmel and Guillermo, both dressed in a leotard and platinum blonde wig, get a quick lesson from the star of Lifetime's "Dance Moms” before hilariously attempting to recreate the spins, kicks, leaps and twirls delivered by the pint-sized dancer in the four-minute video. Watch below.
“Was I intimidated by the choreography? They haven’t choreographed choreography that intimidates this guy,” Kimmel says, pointing to himself. “I don’t dance a lot, but when I do dance, I dance well. It’s when I feel most free, when I’m dancing.”
Toward the end of the clip, Kimmel suggests that the three try doing the dance together. Despite a comically disastrous result, “I think it’s better with three people,” Kimmel says. “It’s like watching mirror images in a way.”
But Sia won’t likely be knocking down the late-night host’s door for a dancing cameo anytime soon.
“I don’t want to say Jimmy and Guillermo are bad at dancing — alright, I’ll just say it, they’re really bad at dancing,” Ziegler says to laughter and applause from Kimmel's audience.
