Pop singer-songwriter Andy Grammer is returning this summer with "Magazines or Novels," a new album due out Aug. 5 on S-Curve Records. The one-time Los Angeles street performer is previewing the follow-up to his 2011 self-titled debut with the track "Back Home," which receives an inspiring music video premiering exclusively on Billboard.com:
Directed by Justin Baldoni, the "Back Home" video finds Grammer stalking the salt flats in Salt Lake City before entertaining a crowd in the city with colored powder. The more intimate shots, of the singer and his friends sharing laughs on a tour bus, drives home the refrain of the song: "Ain't no matter where we go/We always find a way back home."
"'Back Home' has that massive group vocal in the chorus," says Grammer. "This video needed to feel enormous. The capacity crowd singing amidst a 'colorsplosion' was exactly what it called for."
Grammer has a slew of shows planned for the summer, performing next at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix on Tuesday night (June 10). On June 16, Grammer will perform with Ed Sheeran, Demi Lovato and Colbie Caillat at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, as part of MYfm's My Big Night Out.
