Mariah Carey chose an unexpected method of transportation to New York’s Fresh Air Fund Gala on May 29: the NYC subway.
Dressed in a glitzy light blue gown with dark sunglasses, Carey posted photos of her Thursday evening train ride, where she’s seen laughing with producer Jermaine Dupri and Stephen Hill, the president of music programming and specials at BET Networks.
“I figured since I’m underdressed, we might as well just take the subway,” said Carey, who was honored during the Fresh Air Fund event.
As previously reported, Carey is heading for her 17th top 10 album on the Billboard 200 chart with her latest album, "Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse.” The set was released on May 27 by Def Jam Records.
The diva will perform a concert and speak with Matt Lauer from her Los Angeles home for the special “Mariah Carey: At Home in Concert with Matt Lauer,” which airs Saturday (May 31) on NBC.
