Pharrell Williams' second studio album, "G I R L," is getting a proper solo tour -- in Europe, for now, at least. The "Happy" star has announced an overseas trek that kicks off on Sept. 9 in Manchester.
Pharrell Williams' second studio album, "G I R L," is getting a proper solo tour -- in Europe, for now, at least. The "Happy" star has announced an overseas trek that kicks off on Sept. 9 in Manchester, per Capital FM.
The Europe dates mark the first extended run for Williams since the release of "G I R L," which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart in March. The follow-up to 2006's "In My Mind" spawned Williams' inescapable hit "Happy," which topped the Hot 100 chart for 10 weeks.
Last month, Pharrell previewed his headlining show with star-studded sets at the consecutive weekends of Coachella, receiving assists from Jay Z, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Busta Rhymes and others at the California festival. He also performed "Happy" at the Oscars, and played an extended medley to kick off the NBA All-Star Game in February.
