'Game of Thrones' Character Playlist: 20 Songs For Season 4
Tywin is blasting Aloe Blacc, Margaery is channeling Chris Martin, and Joffrey is a nu-metal "freak": check out our picks for season 4 of "GoT."
Pack your bags for Westeros: "Game of Thrones" finally comes back on Sunday night (Apr. 6), with the brilliantly bloody HBO drama resuming after reaching precarious heights last year. The first three seasons of the show have left the diehards yearning for new answers: will the Starks ever get their revenge? How much longer can Joffrey's reign of terror continue? And, most importantly, what modern-day song would each of the many main characters utilize as a personal anthem?
Fortunately, Billboard.com can answer that last question. Have you ever wondered what Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon Snow and the others would have cued up on their iPods? Check out Billboard.com's "Game of Thrones" character playlist, which captures the inner thoughts and desires of our favorite characters -- and see our Season 3 playlist after checking out all of our picks.
Tyrion Lannister -- Beyonce, "Drunk In Love"
Tyrion and Sansa Stark aren't exactly Jay and Bey, but the craftiest Lannister also pairs marriage with a whole lot of imbibing. He's also pretty fond of "beautiful bodies grinding up in that club." And, like Beyonce, he's probably got a surprise or two up his sleeve this season.
Daenerys Targaryen -- Katy Perry feat. Juicy J, "Dark Horse"
Counted out in King's Landing for too long, the Mother of Dragons is mounting her army with a few fire-breathers by her side. Are you ready for her perfect storm?
Jon Snow -- Lil Wayne & Birdman, "Stuntin' Like My Daddy"
After running around with the wildlings, Jon Snow is back at the Night Watch and has to serve as a leader to the depleted brotherhood. It's time to remember his role as Ned Stark's son and stunt on the white walkers.
Jaime Lannister -- The Ready Set, "Give Me Your Hand"
Jaime is back in King's Landing, but with a very important body part missing. He could sing this song while searching for a new purpose… and, of course, a new appendage.
Tywin Lannister -- Aloe Blacc, "The Man"
More on top of his game than ever following the Red Wedding, Tywin still has everyone on the playing board under his thumb. You can tell everybody, King Joffrey's grandfather is the man.
Shae -- Miley Cyrus, "We Can't Stop"
Savvy in her sexuality and aware of her magnetic personality, Tyrion's beloved can't stop staying by her man's side, even when she knows she should leave King's Landing. To Shae, this is her party too -- and she'll do what she wants.
Robb Stark -- Sarah McLachlan, "I Will Remember You"
A sorrowful song for a fallen king. The Red Wedding was unforgettable, but so was the charisma of the eldest Stark son.
Arya Stark -- Thirty Seconds To Mars, "The Kill"
Arya ended season three by offing her first victim. How many more will fall by the end of season four? Watch out for this wild child.
Samwell Tarly -- Chris Brown, "Loyal"
If Jon Snow is one of the heroes still in play, then Sam is his faithful sidekick, always ready to serve his pal, the Night Watch and his new love interest.
Cersei Lannister -- Taylor Swift, "Treacherous"
You knew she was in trouble when she walked in, but this season, the King's mother may turn into an especially duplicitous character. All she's ever gonna be is mean, but hey, she's got the power.
Next: Joffrey, Sansa & A 'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend'
Ygritte -- Miranda Lambert, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"
Ygritte has loved Jon Snow, and shot at Jon Snow. She's passionate, gritty, and more than a little intense. And now, she's an ex-girlfriend.
Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane -- Usher, "Can't Stop, Won't Stop"
The Hound doesn't want to be stuck to Arya Stark's side, but against his own judgment, he can't stop (and won't stop) protecting her. Therefore, the violent buddy comedy continues!
Joffrey Baratheon -- Korn, "Freak on a Leash"
King Joffrey has established himself as a sick individual, but also, one that can be controlled (usually by his mother and grandfather). Like any great nu-metal song, Joffrey is unabashedly reckless and fascinating to experience.
Margaery Tyrell -- Coldplay, "Fix You"
The presumptive queen has managed to sink her claws into Joffrey and (sort of) tweak his worst instincts. If she has her way, she'll fix him into a proper king with whom to share the world's power.
Sansa Stark -- Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Married to Tyrion and relentlessly unhappy, Sansa has embraced her ugly, her disease and her rotten luck in love. She doesn't want to be used for her bloodline, but as a Stark, she was born this way.
Bran Stark -- Swans, "The Seer Returns"
With the Starks in disarray, Bran must continue his travels and use his powers to avenge his family. The results will surely be as epic as a Swans album.
Brienne of Tarth -- Fleet Foxes, "Your Protector"
Brienne is all about disregarding her own needs to serve others -- first Renley, then Catelyn, and recently Jaime, while transporting him back to King's Landing. If you have Brienne on your side, you have a magnificent protector.
Petyr 'Littlefinger' Baelish -- Drake, "Worst Behaviour"
It's true that motherf--kers never loved him, but Littlefinger gleefully embraces his ability to scheme and somehow come out on top. After starting from the bottom, he is now just a few folks away from real power.
Theon Greyjoy -- Eminem feat. Rihanna, "The Monster"
Captured and castrated (yikes!), Theon is now a shell of his former self. Can this monstrous betrayer find salvation? We'll have to wait and see.
Daenerys' Dragons -- Ellie Goulding, "Burn"
Hey, what did you expect? They've got the fire, and they're gonna let it burn!
