The co-writer of Icona Pop's "I Love It" & a member of Miike Snow have teamed up for a dazzling EP. Listen here first.
Galantis, the dance duo composed of celebrated pop creators Linus Eklow and Christian Karlsson, has been regularly dropping spectacular singles since the joint project was announced last November, and on Apr. 1 the pair will collect them all on their six-song, self-titled debut EP. The calendar might not have flipped over to April just yet, but you can hear Galantis' debut EP release on Big Beat Records in full, including the never-before-heard track "Revolution," exclusively on Billboard.com:
Eklow (aka Style of Eye) co-wrote Icona Pop's recent smash "I Love It," and as one-third of Miike Snow and one-half of production Bloodshy & Avant, Karlsson is responsible for some enduring pop hits, most notably Britney Spears' "Toxic." Together, they have concocted a stimulating mash-up of their best impulses, with EP standout "Smile" receiving praise from Diplo, Steve Angello and others over the past few months.
"When we started Galantis, we set out to challenge each other and experiment with all of the sounds and ideas that we find exciting. We built a studio on a small island in the Baltic Sea and our surroundings became a source of inspiration for the EP," the groups says in a joint statement. The song "Revolution," meanwhile, "can be interpreted however you want, for us it's about our daily chase of that perfect beat."
Galantis will head to Indio, Calif. to make its live debut at Coachella on Apr. 12. After playing both weekends of the festival, the duo will embark on a brief U.S. tour, which begins on Apr. 24 in Washington, D.C.
