It's December, meaning plenty of musicians are getting into the holiday spirit -- like Echosmith, for instance. The California indie pop act shot a video for its rendition of "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," and Billboard has the exclusive premiere.
The oft-covered Christmas classic, which has spawned redos from Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and more, gets an indie rock update with Echosmith's version, featuring frontwoman Sydney Sierota's singsong vocals. The video itself is simple enough, with the four-piece -- all siblings -- performing the holiday tune in a performance space surrounded by pictures and, most importantly, wrapped presents.
"Christmas is our favorite time of year," lead vocalist Sydney said, "and this song... is a song of hope and exactly what we wish you'll find this Christmas season."
"I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" is available on iTunes.
The band is fresh off the release of its debut LP, "Talking Dreams," which dropped Oct. 8 on Warner Bros. Records.
