Lady Gaga, Eminem, Katy Perry: Whose New Male-Female Duet Is Best?
Music fans are in the thick of 2013's blockbuster fall release schedule, with new offerings from Eminem and Lady Gaga on their way and Katy Perry's latest full-length recently hitting retailers. All three superstars have recently released absorbing new duets with singers of the opposite sex from their new albums; Lady Gaga's collaboration with R. Kelly and Katy Perry's musical collision with Juicy J are currently in the Top 40 of the Hot 100 chart, while Eminem's latest Rihanna duet is likely headed there soon. Only one question remains: which high-profile male-female duet is your favorite?
Vote now in the poll below to tell us which new collaboration -- "Do What U Want," "The Monster" or "Dark Horse" -- is the strongest pop duet of the season:
Lady Gaga's slinky synthesizer jam "Do What U Want" wasn't supposed to be an official single from the singer's forthcoming "ARTPOP" album, but due to the wildly positive reaction to the track, the R. Kelly guest spot will be impacting Top 40 radio. The newly christened single debuts at No. 13 on this week's Hot 100 chart, offering a mid-tempo change-up from the dance-pop of Gaga's latest Top 10 single, "Applause."
Meanwhile, Eminem and Rihanna found massive chart success before with "Love The Way You Lie," which topped the Hot 100 chart and became the biggest hit off of Em's smash 2010 album "Recovery." Their new collaboration, "The Monster," presents the most radio-friendly track from "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" released thus far, after "Berzerk" and "Rap God" previewed the album for hip-hop purists.
And don't sleep on "Dark Horse" -- although Katy Perry's "PRISM" cut with Juicy J is not an official single, the track jumped 29 spots to No. 28 on this week's Hot 100 chart following the pop star's latest album release. With crackling trap production courtesy of Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut, "Dark Horse" gleefully infuses some grime into the "Roar" singer's shine.
