UPDATE 10/18: This story has been updated with new information on Mahone's illness.
Bad news for Mahomies -- Austin Mahone has postponed his upcoming tour. The 17-year-old heartthrob has fallen ill with a fever and a blood clot, his rep tells TMZ. Mahone was hospitalized Thursday morning after coming down with a 104-degree fever and an "extreme inflammation" in his throat. The rep also says Mahone is being treated for blood clot and dehydration.
The illness means his MTV Artist to Watch tour must be moved to next year, per a tweet from his mother, Michele, who told fans her son was "very ill" in a message sent on Thursday.

"Austin is very upset about this & we want to say we are sorry to all the Mahomies & their parents who have made arrangements to come out," one of the tweets on his account reads. Another tweet ends with the hashtag #PrayforAustin.
We feel very bad but we have no choice but to POSTPONE the tour for now. Thank you for your prayers #PrayforAustin

The details of Mahone's illness were not immediately disclosed on Thursday, though the singer posted an Instagram photo earlier in the day from what appears to be a hospital, the caption of which read that he had "never felt so bad."
According to MTV, new dates for the sold-out tour will be announced as soon as possible.
Mahone's untitled debut LP is currently being prepped. The single "What About Love," the singer's top-performing song, has peaked at No. 66 on the Hot 100 and at No. 18 on the Pop Songs chart.
