One Direction Announces Massive '1D Day' Live Stream

Mark your calendars, One Direction fans: Saturday, Nov. 23 has officially been decreed "1D Day." The pop group announced on Wednesday (Oct. 2) that it would be hosting a seven-hour live broadcast from Los Angeles to help connect with worldwide fans and promote its new album, "Midnight Memories."

According to a press release, "1D Day" will allow 1D diehards "from different countries and time-zones the chance to interact with the band" as they pal around L.A. Details of the live-stream have yet to be announced, but apparently there will be special guests, sketches, fan-generated content and broadcasts from various countries.

One Direction will also be encouraging fans to become a bigger part of the live stream through various competitions and fan events, which will be announced via their social media platforms beginning today. For its part, Office Depot is giving five fans the chance to attend the live stream.

"Midnight Memories," One Direction's third studio album, hits stores on Nov. 25, a little over a year after the release of "Take Me Home." The album's lead single, "Best Song Ever," has peaked at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart.
