Spears says she relates to Cyrus' VMAs controversy: "I remember that age."
Weeks after a controversial Video Music Awards performance, Miley Cyrus is getting support from one singer who's been in the MTV hot seat.
It's a time to embellish a little bit on the creative side of what you do, bring the artistic side of what you do out," Britney Spears told "Extra" host Mario Lopez.
Spears, who once had tongues wagging with VMAs performances that included a live snake ("I"m a Slave 4 U") and kissing Madonna, said she could relate to Cyrus' career path.
"I remember that age when I was just transferring into my career and doing more controversial things and the energy that you feel, all this chaos going on," Spears said. "She is on fire right now, she’s just a ball full of energy.”
Spears is still fired up: she dropped new single "Work Bitch" earlier this month.
