Katy Perry's highly anticipated third studio album, "Prism," may not be hitting stores until Oct. 22, but the pop star has just told fans that they can hear its first single in 10 days. In a video teaser released on Friday (Aug. 2), Perry confirmed that the song is called "Roar" (as was reported earlier this week) and announced that it will be released on Aug. 12.
The 30-second video features the usually colorful pop star dressed in black and white and staring into the camera with little emotion. Perry then proceeds to set fire to the signature blue wig she sported for much of her stint promoting her last album, 2010's "Teenage Dream." The complete title of the teaser on YouTube: "Katy Perry - Roar - Burning Baby Blue."
"Roar" was reportedly co-written by Perry, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, Max Martin and Bonnie McKee, and was teased by Dr. Luke in a tweet a few weeks ago. "Prism," of course, was announced as Perry's new album via a gold truck that rumbled through Los Angeles earlier this week.
