Royal Baby Playlist: Songs to Celebrate Prince William & Kate Middleton's New Arrival
Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge are the proud parents of a healthy baby boy, born Monday at St. Mary's Hospital in London. The young Prince, whose name has not been released, arrived at 4:24 p.m., weighing 8 pounds 6 ounces. In honor of Will and Kate's new child, we've put together a playlist of songs about children and parents, featuring British artists like the Spice Girls and Elton John.
Spice Girls’ “Mama”
Kate Bush's "This Woman's Work"
Elton John's "Blessed"
David Bowie's "Kooks"
John Lennon's "Beautiful Boy"
Although it's only appropriate that the royal couple's playlist be filled with British artists, plenty of Americans have also penned songs to fit Will and Kate's announcement. From Britney Spears' "My Baby" to Stevie Wonder's "Isn't She Lovely," and even Jay-Z's "Glory," which features his own baby Blue Ivy, here is a selection of songs about babies and parents, from artists outside of the United Kingdom.
The Throne's "New Day"
Rascal Flatts' "My Wish"
Britney Spears' "My Baby"
