Still going strong, Daddy Yankee is the top nominee for Telemundo’s Premios Tu Mundo, with three nods. He was followed by four other urban acts -- Chino y Nacho, Gente de Zona, Nicky Jam and Prince Royce -- with two nominations each.

Yankee is up for awards as Favorite urban artist and Fan Club of the year for his #DYArmy.

In addition, Chino y Nacho’s current hit “Andas en mi cabeza,” where he is a featured act, gave him his third nod.

Telemundo’s Premios Tu Mundo, which will air live Aug. 25 from the American Airlines Arena in Miami, turns only five this year, but has quickly become a ratings powerhouse. Last year, it ranked first among all Spanish language programs in its time slot and averaged 2.4 million viewers, an impressive 24 percent increase over the previous year at a time when other award shows have seen big ratings slumps.

The fan-voted awards recognizes pop culture stars, but focuses on television, music and social media. A panel of "industry experts" determine the nominees.

That has turned out to be a powerful combination for Telemundo, whose 10 p.m. timeslot super series have been consistent ratings winners, often topping competitor Univision. In fact, Rafael Amaya, the star of El señor de los cielos, led all nominations with four nods.

Confirmed performers for the awards include Mexican pop groups Reik and Sin Bandera and regional Mexican star Regulo Caro.

Producer Tony Mojena, who also puts together the Billboard Latin Music Awards, will again produce the show.
